AEGON Asset Management plc on behalf of the AEGON UK Property Fund has commenced the refurbishment of its 29,768 sq ft offices at 5 Bath Road, Slough.
The Fund has negotiated surrenders of leases with NEC, Convergys, Kabira and Sungard and are onsite following receipt of planning consent for alterations to the external elevations. Completion of the extensive refurbishment is due for September 2008 and will include new air conditioning, a remodeled reception, new ceilings and lighting, toilets and external alterations. The building has an exceptional car parking ratio of 1 space per 250 sq ft net.
Kevin Mersh of NB Real Estate, joint lettings agents with Jones Lang LaSalle commented: "The Slough office market is suffering from a distinct shortage of top quality office stock available for occupation over the next 18 months. There are a number of larger schemes either on site, approved or planned but nothing at the smaller end of the market able to offer Grade A HQ space with excellent car parking. 5 Bath Road Slough fills the gap in the market perfectly."
