Matthews & Goodman - Leisure Development - Liverpool, Lime Street Station
Date: 16 Jul 2008
Chieftain Construction have secured consent for the development of two new hotels adjacent to Lime Street Station, Liverpool. Initially, Chieftain obtained consent for a development comprising one hotel and apartments in two buildings of 12 and 13 storeys. The slowdown in the residential market prompted a change to a scheme for two hotels in one 15-storey building.
Two hotel operators have been signed up to lease the sites. For Clarion, who will be operating a four star hotel, it is their first development in Liverpool and the beginning of their roll-out plans for the UK.
Planning advice was given by Matthews & Goodman for the scheme designed by Liverpool-based architects Falconer Chester Hall.
