Date: 28 Jul 2008
Two of the biggest names in the UK's professional decorating market have joined forces by entering into a prestigious partnering agreement.
Leading manufacturer PPG Architectural Coatings EMEA Region UK & Ireland, whose brands include Johnstone's and Leyland paints, has signed a Supplier Alliance Agreement with leading national painting, decorating and maintenance contractor J & S Seddon (Painting) Limited. The move marks the creation of the first significant partnership between PPG, formerly SigmaKalon, and a national painting company.
As one of the largest painting contractors in the country, J & S Seddon has become a pioneer of such partnering agreements and through its commitment to raising awareness of the benefits of collaborative working, the company aims to help promote best practice throughout the industry.
Commenting on the prestigious Supplier Alliance Agreement, PPG's Commercial Director Steve Pocock said: "Our partnership with J & S Seddon marks an important milestone for both companies and indeed, the painting industry as a whole. Through working together in such a way, manufacturers and contractors can help to drive the industry forward by improving quality, encouraging innovation and more importantly, sharing the value and benefits of our combined expertise".
Mark Brindley, Managing Director (West) of J & S Seddon added: "We have a number of existing partnering agreements in place and we are obviously delighted to be able to add such an important manufacturer as PPG to the list. Collaborative working practices are vital to the successful ongoing development of the industry and we are delighted that we have been able to take another significant step forward."
