Osborne - Appointment - UK

Date: 29 Jul 2008

Osborne has appointed Elizabeth Smith, a former cardiology nurse, as Health Accounts Manager for P21 to develop the company's understanding of healthcare clients' needs and enhance the value of the services offered to them.

Elizabeth has had a fascinating career, starting out as a nurse for 10 years. She then moved to Africa for two years to teach nursing; returned to spend four years as project manager for Healthlink Worldwide project managing health projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East; became head of business relationships for NHS Professionals; and then acted as project manager for Capula Healthcare on NHS IT projects.

She was drawn to Osborne to learn more about how practical healthcare delivery connected with and could be enhanced by building projects. As part of her role, she will explore potential clients for the company, provide input into healthcare bids and actively work as a project manager delivering P21 projects.

Elizabeth said: "My various roles throughout my career have always had a very strong emphasis on communication. I have first hand experience of the impact that language and terminology can have on good understanding between different cultures. At Osborne, I feel that I can use my skills to bridge the gap between the construction industry and the health service.

"My knowledge will also be applied directly to client projects, enabling us to intelligently contribute to discussions about health planning, and forge stronger partnerships. It is insightful of Osborne to have taken me on and I hope to add real value to healthcare clients," she added.
